I almost packed my December 2021 Paper Pumpkin Kit away. Then, the sentiment stamp “A toast to your success” caught my eye and I had to make one more alternative.
This little treat box (I filled it with 3 Hershey Nuggets) used the card base intended for the egg/toast card in the original instructions for this kit.
To make this card, I cut that card base in half along the score line so I was left with two 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ pieces (one piece is plain blue, the other the yellow/white pattern). I then took the yellow/white piece and scored at 1 1/2″ from each side along the 4 1/4″ side and 1 7/8″ from each side along the 5 1/2″ side (see template below). I then burnished well and cut notches out on the middle score lines (see below).
I used Tear & Tape to assemble the box. I usually use glue for my 3D items but the sides do not meet the edges perfectly here so I went with the tape to avoid a mess. I ‘fixed’ the gap by cutting 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ strips from the back of the card – the blue piece. I adhered those to either side of the box to cover the gap and to form handles for the little box.
I stamped the toast (with his smarty-pants glasses face) on the piece provided in the kit and the sentiment on another piece of the blue back of the card. I fussy cut the sentiment into pieces, as shown. I adhered the toast with a strip of Tear & Tape and the sentiment pieces with Dimensionals (you can use the Minis or just cut the regular-sized ones into smaller pieces).
