Festively Frightful

Is it cute… or is it SPOOKY?

I really think the Festive & Bright Bundle is a great addition to anyone’s craft supply stash – I have used it to make bottle tags (see my post here) and the card above. You can cover the fall and winter holidays with it.

I went with Halloween this time and decided to transform two products available now (the Be Dazzling DSP – which is a Sale-A-Bration item while supplies last – and the gingham ribbon). I mean Halloween is about dressing up, right?

I used Stampin’ Blends to change both products. Using the Basic Black Blends combo, I colored the Be Dazzling paper and die cut a spider web – no longer gold, this spider web shines in black. I used the Highland Heather Dark Blend to color in the black and white gingham ribbon to make a fun pop of color (the possibilities are endless with this and I think I may have to buy a few more spools).

To make the card, I used a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ Basic Black card stock base (scored at 4 1/4″) and layered some DSP from the Cute Halloween pack (larger layer 5 1/4″ x 4″, smaller layer 2 3/4″ x 4″). After coloring in a 16″ length of that gingham ribbon, I wrapped it around the layered DSP and tied a bow. I used multipurpose glue to attach this to the card base.

Using a longer scrap of Basic White card stock, I stamped/die cut the witch hat/broom stamp from the Festive& Bright set. I colored using Stampin’ Blends (they are so forgiving and my coloring tool of choice, for sure). I adhered to the DSP on a diagonal using Stampin’ Dimensionals. After coloring the Be Dazzling DSP and die cutting the spider web from that piece, I adhered in the upper left corner of the card using glue.

I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of Basic White and die cut using the Festive & Bright bundle dies (as well as two spooky ghosts). I used Smoky Slate ink and a Blending Brush to make that piece look a little more ‘spooky’ and popped up on the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I also added some stars from the Cute Stars pack. I added tiny snips of Basic Black to the back of the ghosts to make their eyes show more clearly and adhered using some Stampin’ Dimensionals.

So – what do you think? Too cute or cute with a touch of spooky?

I’ve added the links to the products I’ve used available in my online shop below. If you’re order is under $150, please apply hostess code 4KCKADD7 upon checking out. If over $150, then enjoy your Stampin’ Rewards (contact me if you have any questions).
