Jar of Joy Card

A handmade greeting card featuring a green striped background, an illustration of a jar with a gingerbread man and stars inside, and the text 'Sending a jar full of cheer'.

What a fun card we made at my stamp class this past weekend using the Sweet Jar Builder Punch and the Jar of Joy Stamp Set!

And it was super easy – which in my opinion, makes it even better.

Here are the measurements of paper:

  • Thick Basic White card base: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Basic White: 1 1/2″ x 4″, 2 1/2″ square (for jar), 1/2″ x 4″ (for sentiment)
  • Shaded Spruce: 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • Real Red DSP: 1 3/8″ x 3 7/8″

I used the Mini Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder to add a little fun to the Shaded Spruce panel. I glued that panel to the card front.

I adhered the DSP to the rectangle panel of Basic White and then glued that combination to the card front.

I stamped the jar outline on a piece of Basic White in Memento Tuxedo Black. I then used Early Espresso and Crumb Cake for the gingerbread cookies inside. I punched that out used the Sweet Jar Builder Punch. I punched a lid out of Silver Foil. I glued the lid to the jar and adhered that to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment in Shaded Spruce ink on the 1/2″ x 4″ piece of Basic White and snipped the edges on an angle. I tied a bow in some gold trim and adhered that to the card front – I then placed the sentiment atop that using Dimensionals.

I think I’m definitely going to whip up some more of these – the set includes other images you can put inside of the jar. You can see those in the video above. Which image is your favorite?
