Inspired Thoughts Sympathy Card

Here is the last card I made for this week using the Inspired Thoughts stamp set. I chose the sympathy sentiment and paired that with some images from the Uniquely Artistic stamp set.

I have quite a few layers on this card. The card base is Basic Gray (5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ on the long side). Then I have a layer of So Saffron (4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″), a Basic Black layer (4″ x 5 1/4″), and a Basic White layer (3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″).

I used a blending brush and So Saffron to add a layer of light color to the center of the Basic White piece. I then stamped the outlined images in Basic Gray (I stamped off once). I then stamped the inner images in Smoky Slate (I also stamped off on these to give a lighter layer of color).

I stamped my sentiment on a scrap of Basic White in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut out using the smaller oval on the Double Oval punch. I then punched out the scalloped oval from a scrap of Basic Black. I adhered these together using some Seal.

I wanted to use the Black and White Gingham ribbon on this card but I thought the contrast of colors was a bit much with the whole card being a little muted in general. I took a Smoky Slate blend (light) and ran it over the length of the ribbon I wanted to use (around 18″). This muted the white just a little. After the ribbon dried, I tied it around my three layers and tied a bow. I adhered this whole panel to the card base.

I adhered my sentiment oval to the left of the bow using Dimensionals. I added a few Matte Black Dots to finish it off.

I have listed the products that I used below:
