Last week I used the Butterfly in the Butterflies and Flowers Layering Decorative Masks set (check it out here) – this week, I wanted to try the flowers. I’ve been checking out all of the wonderful samples from other demonstrators and decided to give it a go.
I will be honest, these flowers were a little trickier for me to line up (we can also attribute this to my eyesight slowly slipping). I also had to be more careful about staying away from other open areas to not make a mess than I did with the butterfly. My whoopsies above are happy little accidents -haha.
On a piece of 4″ x 5 1/4″ of Basic White, I used my blending brushes and Petal Pink and Calypso Coral inks for the flowers and Soft Succulent for the leaves. Because I made a few messy mistakes while blending the inks, I went over those areas with the ‘vines’ mask and Soft Succulent. While lining up the masks took a little bit more time, I think the results are beautiful.
I layered this piece on a piece of Evening Evergreen (4 3/16″ x 5 7/16″) and then this piece onto a Basic White (thick) card base ( 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″). I stamped my sentiment (here from the Beauty of Friendship set) in the upper right hand corner in Evening Evergreen. I finished off with a few of the Opal Rounds.
I’ve added the links to the products I used below – you’ll be taken to my online store.
