I think my favorite part of the Sweet Talk suite collection is the Designer Series Paper – it has traditional ‘Valentine’s’ colors AND fun pops of other colors you wouldn’t expect. I made the DSP the focal point of this card.
To start, I scored a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Thick Basic White cardstock at 4 1/4″ on the long side and burnished with my bone folder for the card base. I then started assembling the main panel. I took a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of DSP and adhered that to a 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of Highland Heather cardstock. To the horizontal center of that, I adhered a 1 1/2″ x 4″ piece of DSP (lining it up to the borders of the other DSP panel). For this card, I simply used the reverse side of the DSP I had chosen for the larger piece.
I stamped my sentiment using Real Red ink on a 1/2″ x 4″ piece of Basic White -I placed the sentiment towards the bottom and all the way to the right. I adhered that to the horizontal center of the smaller DSP strip.
I then made that cute little envelope. I cut that out using the dies from the set from a 3″ x 3″ piece of Blushing Bride. I stamped the conversation heart with a Highland Heather border and a Blushing Bride interior (that was cut out using a die, as well). I assembled and ‘stuffed’ the envelope using glue dots. I adhered that to the card front using Dimensionals.
I cut out my heart chain from a piece of Real Red cardstock and using dots of multipurpose glue, I affixed above the sentiment. All done – I thought that was easy, no?
