In Color Poinsettia Petals

An In Color Ombre gift bag dressed up in Poinsettia Petals with embossing – Images (c) Stampin’ Up! 2020-2021

I’ve got the winter holiday bug.

I can’t help it – I was in the craft room and Evening Evergreen caught my eye. I thought of one of my favorite sets from last year (that carried over – yay!) – Poinsettia Petals. Then I thought of the In Color Ombre Gift bags – and I said, how about a subtle holiday treat bag. I traded in my usual holiday standards of Shaded Spruce and Real Red and went for Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent, and Petal Pink.

To really make this gift bag shine, I used the Poinsettia dies on the Pearlescent paper for a nice shimmer (on top of the In Color Shimmer Vellum – can’t have too much sparkle, right?). And of course, a few In Color Jewels on the tag add a little something.

I made another bag but with stamped images instead of embossed texture (below) – which one do you like best? Let me know in a comment.

To make the belly band, I cut a 2 1/8″ x 11 piece of Petal Pink cardstock (stamped the berry image from Poinsettia Petals on it) and scored it around the bag. (If you placing something bulky in the bag, make sure to have that in the bag before scoring to allow enough wiggle room). I secured it at the back of the bag with Stampin Seal +. I then cut a piece of the In Color Shimmer Vellum (1 3/4″ x 12″) and scored it over the belly band, adhering it on the back.

For the poinsettias, I either used the embossing dies on the Pearlescent Specialty paper (leaves in Soft Succulent) or a stamped the images on that paper (note** I stamped in Memento and walked away and let that dry for a while…..I didn’t want to smudge that ink running through the Stampin’ Emboss and Cut Machine.)

I used the Tailor Made Tags to cut a tag out for the sentiment and used some white Baker’s Twine for the attachment (It’s hidden in the pictures above – I have to hire a new photographer – haha)

I adhered the flowers together (3 layers each) with little bits of Stampin Seal + and then onto the belly band.

Here is a list of products that I used:

Thanks so much for looking – I promise, I will stop with all the Christmas stuff (maybe….)
