Web of Fun Dimension Card

Sometimes it’s the simplest techniques that create the biggest impact!

For today’s Halloween card, I wanted the sentiment to be the star of the show. Instead of using foam adhesive, I created my own dimension by cutting the “Halloween” word three times from cardstock and stacking each layer together. I also used three different colors and offset slightly for a fun effect.

The result? A thick, chipboard-like embellishment that adds incredible depth and shadows without a lot of extra bulk.

I paired the layered sentiment with a spider web background and a cute little spider to keep the focus on the greeting. The subtle purple shadow behind the black cardstock adds just enough color to make everything stand out without taking away from the spooky theme. I cut the web from our Lunar Lustre paper – if you haven’t gotten your hands on that yet, run and get it!

This layering technique works beautifully on:

• Home décor projects

The next time you’re reaching for foam adhesive, try stacking a few die cuts instead. It’s a simple trick that makes your projects look extra polished!
