Traditions of Christmas Fun Fold

A handmade holiday card featuring a 'Season's Greetings' banner, decorated with green foliage and flowers on a red and plaid background, alongside stamp sets labeled 'Traditional Labels' and 'Christmas Greenery'.

This past weekend, I had the great opportunity to attend a retreat led by fellow demonstrator, Michelle Halleen. It’s always the best time and she makes sure our creative cups are overflowing by the time the end of the day rolls around.

I participated in a swap with the other attendees – take a look at what I got:

So much talent – and so inspiring. I am definitely going to try a few of those layouts!

I made my swap fun fold which I modified from a card I saw by Sam Calcott (Mixed Up Craft). Her card was much larger so I scaled it down to our usual A2 size (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″).

I used the Traditions of Christmas Suite Collection – a new offering in the mini catalog – take a look:

Display of Christmas-themed crafting materials including patterned paper, stamp sets, cutting dies, a roll of ribbon, and embellishments.

Here are the measurements of the paper you need.

  • Real Red cardstock: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
    • With 8 1/2″ side along the top of your trimmer, score at 2 1/8″ from either side
    • Rotate so that the 5 1/2″ side is long the top of your trimmer, move the card over to the 1″ mark and cut from score line to score line; flip and do the same
    • Rotate so the the 8 1/2″ side is back along the top, score at 4 1/4″ from the top of the card to the cut; flip and do the same;
    • With the 8 1/2″ side still at the top, move the card to 3 1/8″ and score from cut to cut; flip and do the same
  • Real Red cardstock: (1) 1 1/2″ x 11″
  • Designer Series Paper: one pattern (2) 1 7/8″ x 5 1/4″; second pattern (1), 1 7/8″ x 5 1/4″; third pattern (2) 7/8″ x 3 1/4″, (1) 1 7/8″ x 3 1/4″
  • Basic White: 1 7/8″ x 5 1/4″; scraps for stamped images

It looks like a lot of work but one you make one – you’ll be cranking these out!

I really like the Traditions of Christmas Suite Collection – both bundles of stamps and dies are awesome. I love how the solid stamps fill in the images.

Here are the products I used to make this card:
