Hearts of Elegance Easel Card
I couldn’t resist making a fun fold card with this Online Exclusive product collection. At first I was just going to make a big heart-shaped card but of course, at the last minute, inspiration struck and we went ‘easel’ with it. Hope you like.
To make the card base, use a piece of Real Red card stock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″. Score at 4 1/4″ and 5 3/4″ on the long side. Fold the card stock in half and burnish well. Using the largest heart die from the bundle, you are going to cut the card base while folded in half. The trick to getting the card to be a card – make sure the top of the heart slightly overhangs the crease at the top of the card. I used to masking paper to hold my die in place while cutting. After cutting the heart out, make sure to crease that other score mark you made at 5 3/4″. This will help fold the top of the card up into your ‘easel’.
After that – it’s all about the decoration. I cut a few pieces of DSP/cardstock for this. Each was measured at 4 1/4″ x 3 3/4″ (I used the Marbled Elegance DSP, Melon Mambo, and Basic White – for the back). I used the next largest die that has the nice border. I used a piece of 2 1/4″ x 2/14″ Gold Foil and the pretty detailed heart die for the inside of the card.

One note – when adhering the DSP to the front of the card, make sure to only apply glue to bottom half of the paper so that the top part of the heart pops up when the easel mechanism is folded. Oooh – another note: when affixing the gold foil heart to act as your ‘stopper’, use two layers of Dimensionals so that it’s a little bit higher.
Have fun with this – I know I did! Here are the supplies I used to make this card:
