Season of Elegance Watercolor Card

I have always wanted to try this technique – and like so many techniques that catch my eye, I ignored it for a while. I gave it a try using the stamp sets from the Season of Elegance Suite Collection; Peaceful Evergreens (a gorgeous set of images) and Peaceful Season (sentiments to help celebrate the season, indeed!)

I started with a Lost Lagoon card base (8 ½” x 5 ½”, scored at 4 ¼” on the long side) and used one layer of Basic White cut at 4” x 5 ¼”. I used Balmy Blue and Pool Party ink pads to ink up a clear acrylic block (size H). I then sprayed the block with my Stampin’ Spritzer to make the ink runny. I pressed the inked side of my block down on the Basic White panel (towards the left side).

I let that dry for a moment or two. I inked up a large tree stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and stamped the image on top of the water color block. I stamped the image slightly off of that image as shown. I finished the card with my sentiment stamped in the upper right-hand corner of the Basic White panel (I used Lost Lagoon).

Pretty easy, right? I would like to try this using a color other than black for the image that overlays the watercolor portion. Check my social media feeds – maybe I’ll post some.
