October 2023 Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

First – let’s take a look and then a closer look at the cards from the October 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit:

Look at that cute glittery snow on the rooftops!! I love it!

They are adorable, aren’t they? I actually made the whole kit just as designed – I couldn’t bear to cut up those beautifully painted panels.

So I made some simple and easy alternatives that will come in handy for the coming holiday season: 2 cards and a tag.

My first alternative simply used a Basic White card base and Berry Burst, Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight, and Coastal Cabana inks and paper scraps (3/4″ x 3″). I stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment on each scrap of paper in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I stamped the spotty background image form the Paper Pumpkin stamp set in the coordinating colors.

The Polar Bear was an easy one, too! I started with a Misty Moonlight card base. I stamped some of the snowflake from the Paper Pumpkin stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink on a piece of 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ Basic White. I mounted that to a 3 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ piece of Real Red. I fussy cut a polar bear from the Beary Christmas DSP (I may have had some laying around – haha) and put him in the middle of the Basic White panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used one of the extra banners from the Paper Pumpkin kit for the sentiment.

The last alternative is a tag. I stamped the house and tree images on a scrap of Basic White and cut out using the second largest rounded rectangle die from the Nested Essentials dies. Using the largest rounded rectangle die from the Nested Essentials dies, I cut a shape out of Real Red. I popped a ribbon hole in the Real Red piece (I used the Very Best Trio Punch) and tied a bow using some gold ribbon. I colored in the images using Stampin’ Blends and mounted that to the Real Red piece using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I usually try to minimize extra supplies when making alternatives but this time I got a little carried away – haha! Here’s what I used:
