While this year was definitely celebrated differently, some things remained the same. None of my grandfather’s famous egg-nog was had (he makes it the best) nor any of my aunt’s fantastic desserts but thanks to the Post Office, we were able to exchange gifts.
I always like to send thank you cards to those who do something thoughtful, whether it’s sending a gift, helping me out with something, or just plain being awesome. The cards I made (pictured above) will be dropped in the mail tomorrow (and hopefully won’t face any delivery woes).
To make, I used 1 piece of Old Olive cardstock (4 1/4″ x 11, scored at 5 1/2″), 1 piece of Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series paper (4 x 5 1/2″), 1 piece of sheer red ribbon (8″), 1 scrap of Real Red cardstock and 1 scrap of Whisper White cardstock. I used the Ornate Thanks photopolymer stamp set (with Mossy Meadow ink) as well as the Ornate Layer dies.
I wrapped the Designer Series paper with the red ribbon, adhering it to the back with transparent tape. I then affixed that to the Old Olive cardbase (I used Stampin’ Seal + for this). I stamped the “Thank You” sentiment on the Whisper White card stock and then cut this out, as well as the Real Red piece using the dies from the Ornate Layers set. I adhered the Real Red piece over the ribbon using Stampin’ Seal + and then the sentiment using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
What a quick and easy way to say thank you – and still thinking about you. I cannot wait to see my extended family again!
