Butterflies and Flowers Layering Decorative Mask (Thank You)

Until Stampin’ Up! came out with their Blending Brushes, I will admit that I never really picked up the decorative mask products. Though I can say I’m proficient with daubers, I’m also pretty clumsy with them – blending brushes make it so easy to create great images.
I made this thank you card using the butterfly images from the Butterflies and Flowers Layering Masks. Using a blending brush, I laid down the base of Just Jade and then layered Moonlight Misty on top (for the more detailed part of the butterfly). I was done in about a minute and I absolutely love how it came out. I fussy cut the butterfly for this card but you could easily fill in that mask right on your card base.
I layered a 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of Designer Series Paper on a Thick Basic White card base. I used the Sale-A-Bration DSP, Sunshine and Rainbows, here to get a nice contrasting background of Misty Moonlight. Misty Moonlight has to be one of my favorite blues of all time and I will be sad to see it go.
I stamped my sentiments in Just Jade and Misty Moonlight (Biggest Wish stamp set) all the way to the right on a piece of Basic White (1 1/2″ x 5 3/8″) and adhered that to the DSP. I then used some Multipurpose Glue to adhere the butterfly – I only put adhesive on the center body of the butterfly so I could bend the wings up a bit.
I thought I was done with this card at this point but I felt the white below the butterfly was too boring. I used an old hole punch and made two holes in the card base that I strung some Misty Moonlight/Silver twine through and tied a bow. I finished it off with some 2020-2022 In Color Square Gems.
I’ve included links to my online store for all of the products I used to create this card.
