Gears & Textures Birthday Card

If ever there was a masculine birthday card – this is it! I think it’s also good for any steampunk fan in your life.

It’s got gears, chains, and splats of fun metallic color! Take a look at the bundle:

I really cannot wait to try some more types of cards with this set. So much fun!

Here are the measurements you’ll need to make this card:

• Night of Navy: 11″ x 4 1/4″ (scored at 5 1/2″ on the long side)
• Basic Gray: 4 1/2″ x 2 1/4″
• Silver Foil: scraps for chains and gears
• Mossy Meadow: scraps for longer cut outs
• Early Espresso: scrap for ‘net’ cut out

Lightly run the anti-static bag from the Embossing Additions kit over the card front. Randomly stamp the ‘splats’ on the card front. I did one at a time and then covered each one in the color powder I wanted. When done, heat set using the heat tool.

Stamp the birthday sentiment from the Layered Thoughts stamp on the Basic Gray panel and cover in black embossing powder. Heat set using the heat tool. Cut on an angle from either side to get the desired look.

After cutting out chains, gears, and other shapes, adhere them to the card front as you’d like. I cut the Early Espresso ‘net’ in half and adhered that to the back of the birthday sentiment. This panel can go on using Dimensionals to add some depth.
