Branching Out Holiday Lantern

A person holding a decorative lantern made of cardstock, featuring festive embellishments and a ribbon at the top.

The first project I wanted to make, surprisingly, when I got my new Branching Out Bundle was a ….lantern. I thought the dies in the set would make a great ‘window’ for a lantern. Check out the bundle:

An assortment of crafting materials including a 'Branching Out' photopolymer stamp set featuring various botanical designs and a decorated greeting card displaying the word 'Hello' alongside winter-themed imagery.

The dies are awesome!! I saw StampinWithAmore make a similar lantern but I needed to make mine larger so I came up with some different measurements. Here they are:

  • Early Espresso
    • Main part of lantern is a 10 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece
      • With 10 1/2″ side along the top of your trimmer, score at 1/2″, 3″, 5 1/2″, and 8″
      • With 8 1/2″ side along the top of your trimmer, score at 2 1/2″ and 6″
    • Decorative bottom: (2) 3″ x 4 1/2″

You’ll burnish these score lines well. As far as the directions, I don’t often like to just say “watch my video” but …. watch my video. It’s a lot and I think visuals are best.

So, what do you think – are you going to give it a try? I think you should…
