Whole Latte Masking Technique Week (Card #1)

Last week, I asked what types of techniques you’d like to see – and masking techniques were one of the responses. This week, I’ll share a few that I know but don’t necessarily use all the time. I am not sure why – because they really make cards look great. I hope you enjoy them and put them into your crafty rotation. I’ll also be using products from the A Little Latte Suite Collection which is an online exclusive. I’m skipped the last few coffee-related sets so when I saw this, I scooped it up.
We’ll start off easy with a basic color block technique. I used Stampin’ Up! Masking Paper to achieve that section of blended brown color.
Let me give you the measurements of the paper cuts. The card base is Basic White cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″ on the long side. The A Little Latte 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper is cut to 4 3/16″ x 5 7/16″. The Basic White square is 4″ x 4″.
I adhered 2 pieces of Masking Paper (4 1/4″ x 2″) to block off a 1 1/4″ strip on the Basic White Square. I then used Blending Brushes and some inks (Pecan Pie and Crumb Cake) to make a nice blended block of color.
I carefully removed the Masking Paper, stamped my sentiment, and finished off with some of those adorable Swirl Dots.
Here are the products that I used to make this quick card:
