Heart Shaped Water Color Card
Let’s keep those lovey-dovey feelings going from last week. Here is a card I made using the Heart Shaped Bundle from Stampin’ Up!
I started with a card base of Pool Party (8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ on the long side). I then took a 3 1/2″ square piece of Fluid 100 watercolor paper and stamped the main heart image onto its center using Versamark ink. I covered that with some white embossing powder and heat set it using my heat tool.
I pressed some Pool Party ink into the pad’s lid and used my Water Painters to pick some color up and overlay the stamped image. That makes a nice embossed-resist image. I mounted this water-colored piece onto a 3 5/8″ square of Soft Sea Foam using liquid glue. I adhered this combined piece to the upper part of the card front.
I stamped my sentiment onto a scrap of Basic White and cut it out using the coordinating label die. This went onto the lower part of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Thanks for looking – and I hope you give this technique a try!
