Banner Sayings Birthday Card

January is a great time to build up your stash of birthday cards – so that’s what we did at my January Stamp-A-Stack. Here is one of the cards we made:

We made two of these – one in the shown Flirty Flamingo color-scheme and another using Coastal Cabana as a base.

Here are the measurements and papers you’ll need to make this quick but cute card:

  • Flirty Flamingo: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ on the long side
  • Basic Black: 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Flirty Flamingo Two-Tone: 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ (this is embossed using the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder)
  • Brights Designer Series Paper: 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
  • Basic White: scrap at least 2 1/2″ long and 1/2″ high (for sentiment); 4″ x 5 1/4″ for inside writing panel

This card comes together in a flash. Layer the embossed Flirty Flamingo on top of the Basic Black panel and then that combination to the card base. Punch a 2 3/8″ circle out of the Designer Series Paper and adhere that to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Stamp the birthday sentiment on the scrap of Basic White and punch out using the coordinating punch. Adhere a black twine bow to the DSP circle (I used a glue dot) and place the sentiment on the circle using Dimensionals. Finish the card by adhering the large Basic White panel inside the card.

I hope you didn’t blink because you might have missed putting this together – haha!
