Gliding Garden Card

Does a bundle ever intimidate you with the amount of options it presents to you? That’s what the Gliding Garden Bundle did to me!

Look at all of those dies!! Did I want to do a detailed bench? Regular tree leaves? Hanging vines? And those pillows?!?! Okay—- maybe I overthink things sometimes. I finally threw caution to the wind and created this:

The card came together pretty quickly – I think the longest part was cutting out the bunches of leaves for the tree branch.

Here are the measurements/paper you’ll need to make this card:

  • Night of Navy card base: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Mossy Meadow: 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Balmy Blue: 3 3/4″ x 5″
  • Pecan Pie: 4 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
  • Old Olive Two Tone: 3 3/4″ x 2″
  • Crumb Cake: 4″ x 4″
  • Garden Green: scraps for bunches of leaves die-cuts
  • Misty Moonlight: scraps for pillows
  • Basic White: 3″ x 1/2″; 4″ x 5 1/4″ (writing panel inside)

Here are some assembly tips:

  • I stamped my grass image on the Two Tone Old Olive and then tore (away from me) to give the ‘grass’ a realistic look. I adhered that to the Balmy Blue and then the Balmy Blue to the Mossy Meadow panel. That piece went onto the card front.
  • I glued the tree onto the card front after the above panel was placed. I trimmed any of the branch that overhung the card.
  • I adhered the bench to the tree before the leaves.
  • I used a Blending Brush and some Garden Green ink to pounce my leaves before adhering them to the tree to give them some texture. I also mixed up gluing them down directly and using Dimensionals for some further height differences.
  • I glued one pillow to the swing and used a Dimensional for the other to give it depth.
  • I used a Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blend to color some white Baker’s Twine to get the color I needed.

The next card I want to make with this set will definitely use those hanging vines dies – there are a lot of samples online with the vines and they are gorgeous!!!

Here are the supplies I used to make this card. Don’t forget, if you spend $75 (before tax, shipping and after Stampin’ Rewards), you’ll be able to purchase the Product of the Month. Go check it out!
