Gingerbread Man Banner

Growing up, I remember making banners and decorations for my classrooms during the holiday season. Who else remembers cutting snowflake designs our of white paper and making crepe paper rings? That is what sort of inspired me to make this fun banner out of gingerbread cookies:

A festive banner made of gingerbread cookie cutouts, each adorned with various accessories, spelling out 'MERRY' in colorful letters.

I chose the Brights color collection for this project and I think it looks snazzy. (If I’m going back to my elementary school days, I might as well use the same slang – haha)

I cut 3 sets of gingerbread cookies out of Crumb Cake cardstock using the dies from the set. I cut 6 banners from Berry Burst cardstock using the smallest banner from the Party Banners Die Set. I used half the lollipop die and Early Espresso cardstock for the picks for the banner. The rest of the gingerbread cookies’ wardrobe came from scraps of Azure Afternoon, Bubble Bath, Poppy Parade, Flirty Flamingo and Granny Apple Green. One of my favorite details is the marshmallows in the cup of cocoa the last cookie is holding. I used the small piece from the bow die to cut those out – hee hee!

Take a quick look at how I strung them all together:
