Notes & Totes Gift Card Holder

When we got the chance to see the Notes & Totes Bundle demonstrated at OnStage this March, one of the samples was a pop-up gift card holder. You know I love those, right?! Haha!

I had to recreate it – and here’s how.

I started with a Lemon Lolly card base of 4 1/4″ x 11″. I scored it 4 1/4″ and 8 1/2″. For the front of the card, I stamped the floral image in Lemon Lolly on a piece of Lemon Lolly DSP cut at 4″ x 4″. I matted that DSP piece to a 4 1/8″ square of Secret Sea.

I’ll get to the ‘newspaper’ and ribbon towards the end of the instructions. For the inside of the card, I used 2 pieces of Basic White cut at 4″ x 4″. I created a sun and sky scene on one using Blender Brushes and Lemon Lolly and Balmy Blue. I created a sandy scene on the other piece using Crumb Cake and Pecan Pie.

For the bottom flap, I used another piece of Lemon Lolly DSP (2″ x 4″) from the Subtles Pack matted on a piece of Secret Sea (2 1/8″ x 4 1/8″).

I cut the tote bag out of a piece of the InColor DSP in Cloud Cover and added handles and trim cut from Secret Sea.

After adhering the sides of the tote bag together, I trimmed off the side tabs on the bottom and then cut the flaps on the bottom half-way. I added glue to those flaps and adhered to either side of the crease between the ‘sky’ and the ‘beach.’

I finished the front of the card off by tying a piece of 24 inch Secret Sea ribbon into a bow to secure the card shut. I added the ‘newspaper’ over the image using Dimensionals.
