Layered Thoughts Birthday Card

Here is a card we made at my last Stamp Class – it uses the new Layered Thoughts Photopolymer Stamp Set. Isn’t it a cutie?

It’s a great stamp set to mix and match with to get the sentiments you need.

I used the new (and returning) InColor, Strawberry Slush, for my card base. I cut a regular size card base (8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″) but then trimmed an 1 1/2″ from one side (leaving you with 7″ x 5 1/2″). I then cut 3 square out of the trimmed off piece – so 3 pieces of 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″. You’ll also need a strip of Strawberry Slush cut at 1/2″ x 5 1/2″.

The layered Basic White pieces for the squares are 1 1/4″ x 1 1/4″. You’ll also need a larger piece of Basic White for the Happy Birthday sentiment. I dry embossed a piece of Melon Mambo (5 3/8″ x 2 3/8″) using the So Swirly Embossing Folder. The hearts from the Bee My Valentine stamp set also make an appearance.

Here is a quick video of how we put it together:

I hope you like this card – it was certainly fun to make. Here are the products that I used:
