The fun-fold-full (is that a word?) August Paper Pumpkin had a lot of really cute cards – check them out:

The cards all involved some ‘step’ type of folding that gave them some nice depth. When I saw the beachy theme and the sentiments in the included stamp set, I went to the Waves of Inspiration stamp set and matching Waves dies.

This was a simple alternative. I stamped the large wave image on a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Balmy Blue and then embossed it using the Painted Texture embossing folder (my fav!). I used Misty Moonlight ink.
I cut two wave detail pieces from a scrap of Basic White and Misty Moonlight and adhere that over the stamped wave image. I cut two birds out of a scrap of Early Espresso and glued those onto the card front, as well.
I stamped the “Waving Hello” sentiment on a scrap of Basic White and cropped using one of the label dies from the Waves die set. I ran a small piece of White Herringbone ribbon through the holes and affixed to the upper right corner of the card using Dimensionals. The whole Balmy Blue panel was adhered to a thick Basic White card base.
Here are the supplies I used for this alternative:
