Celebratory Sips in a Peaceful Garden

A handmade sympathy card featuring layered blue and purple patterned paper strips, delicate foliage embellishments, and twine.

About two weeks ago, Stampin’ Up! held its virtual Creativity Now event. I was unable to attend during the initial broadcast of the session but because I had registered for the event, I was able to watch the replay.

Creativity Now is an online event for demonstrators. Three or four projects are shown and participants are able to craft along with the presenters. You can pre-order the new collection used (in this case, the Peaceful Garden Collection) or use whatever sets you have on hand.

I love a good winter set of stamps and papers (especially collections that focus on blues) so I got the pre-order:

A collection of craft supplies featuring the 'Peace on Earth' photopolymer stamp set, various patterned and textured papers in shades of blue, a roll of ribbon, embellishments, and metal dies arranged against a light background.

This will be available to you in the new September Mini Catalog. It consists of a stamp set, dies, embossing folder, embellishments, ribbon, Designer Series Paper, and glimmer paper. It’s a beautiful set.

Here’s a closer look at the detail on the first card we made at the event:

One of the messages that Sara Douglass, the CEO of Stampin’ Up!, shared was about sharing cards and connecting to people in this digital world of ours. I thought about that for a bit (as I looked around my crafting area and saw all of the cards I have made – haha). I don’t have a need (thank goodness) to send the sympathy card we made during the event so I’ll add that to my stash.

I can, however, send other cards. And use some of my other supplies to create cards following these great project directions that Stampin’ Up! gave us.

Here is my take on the Creativity Now card using the Celebratory Sips Collection:

Easy peasy, right? The DSP strips start off as 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ and I simply tore a bit off of each edge. I used Secret Sea (new number one favorite color!!!) for my ink.

Here are the two cards side-by-side:

Two handcrafted cards side by side: one card with a 'Cheers' greeting on an orange background, featuring decorative paper strips and embellishments; the other card displaying a 'With Deepest Sympathy' message on a white background with blue decorative strips and twine.

What suite/bundle/DSP would you use with this layout? Let me know in the comments.

Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a look at my projects. I’d love to see yours so feel free to drop them in the comments.
