Turtle-y Awesome Fun Fold Card

I love the turtles in the Turtle-y Cute Suite Collection! Whether it’s the stamped images or the little guys on the Designer Series Paper, you cannot go wrong.

I fussy cut one of the turtles from the DSP for this card. I also cut out one of the party hats and added it to the turtle for fun. I made that little frame by using two dies from the Textured Noted Dies. I lay them inside of each, secured with some masking paper, and voila!

I used a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock (5 1/4″ x 4″) as my main layer. I stamped the cake and party hat images in Crushed Curry on that layer. I added a 6-inch length of ribbon to the Crushed Curry layer and adhered it to the top of my Flirty Flamingo card base (5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″). I lay down my frame using liquid glue and then tied a piece of ribbon to the other ribbon. My turtle and party hat went on next with some Dimensionals. I added a few of those great looking jewels to the card front, too.

If you think the front of the card is fun – wait until you see the inside:

A few scores on the trimmer tool will help you achieve this fun pop-up!

I used a piece of Flirty Flamingo ( 6 1/4″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 1″, 2″, and 5 1/4″ on the long side) to make this fun fold. I adhered a piece of 3″ x 5 1/4″ piece of DSP to the bigger portion of that piece and cut out a peek-a-boo panel using those Textured Notes Dies. I adhered the one-inch fold to the inside of the card (to the left of the middle crease.) I then adhere the one-inch portion (all the way to the right of the panel) to the inside of the right side of the card.

I used the panel that was left after being cut out to decorate the inside. I cut two pieces of Balmy Blue cardstock using the long rectangle in the Textured Notes Dies and a slightly bigger rectangle out of Basic White. I snipped the Balmy Blue pieces and glued them together so that they did not extend past the pop-up part of the card. I covered the ‘snip’ with my stamped “Hooray” piece.

I made the inside even more fun by adding a bunch of ballons from the Turtle-y Awesome bundle. I colored them in with Cherry Cobbler, Cloud Cover, and Darling Duckling Stampin’ Blends. The small DSP panel to the right of the pop-up portion of the card is 3/4″ x 5 1/4″.

Hope you like the card – it makes me smile.
