Words of Cheer Birthday Card

Words of Cheer – Not just for the holidays

I’m been in full on holiday mode for the past week or two – so I thought I’d make something different. Taking some elements from the Words of Cheer bundle, I created this birthday card.

To make the card, you’ll need:

  • Misty Moonlight cardbase: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at at 4 1/4″ along the 8 1/2″ side
  • Hand-Penned DSP: 4″ x 5 1/4″, 2″ x 3 3/4″ (two of these)
  • Mint Macaron and Basic White scraps
  • Baker’s Twine Essential Pack
  • Genial Gems
  • Snips, Trimmer, and Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine
  • And….the Words of Cheer Bundle

The steps:

  • Adhere the large DSP panel to the card base (I used Stampin’ Seal)
  • Notch out a ‘v’ in one of the DSP pieces left – adhere to the left/middle part of the large DSP panel
  • Run the last DSP piece through the Cut & Emboss machine with the larger ‘happy’ outline die
  • Run the Mint Macaron piece through the Cut & Emboss machine with the smaller ‘happy’ die
  • Adhere the smaller ‘happy’ on to of the larger ‘happy’ (I used my fine tip glue pen) and then that piece on the notched out layer of DSP
  • Stamp ‘DAY’ in Night of Navy on a scrap of Basic White – cut out and adhere with Mini Dimensionals
  • Tie a double bow with white baker’s twice and adhere using Mini Glue Dot
  • Adhere some Genial Gems to the notched out DSP for some sparkle
